It is very important to study how society functions because if we do not than our country, or our world will be at great risk and our economy is already in bad conditions. The Inconvenient Truth documentary, this article (A Tale Of Two Farms), and our economy today, also shows us what our world will be like in the future if we do not change.
To begin, Al Gor showed us that if we do not stop polluting, global warming will destroy the planet. He showed us all this by studying previous weather conditions (summer, winter, fall). According to Al Gor's charts our summers are getting hotter, our winters are getting shorter, and the ice in the North Pole is melting drastically. With all the ice melting, our cities that are close to the water will soon be underneath. By studying how our society functions, he also realized that our green house gasses, our plants (ie ones like in Hamilton) and even littering is one of the main reasons of global warming. When our pollution in the air builds up it creates its own atmosphere on top of our earth's atmosphere. It lets the sun's rays heat up the earth but the pollutions atmosphere does not let the rays out. I must say that ever since i saw the documentary of the inconvenient truth, i have notice alot more people caring about the planet. We recycle allot more, we are starting to decompose alot more and started using for natural energy resources (ie solar power, water for electricity etc). If i never saw this documentary, i would never have guessed that our world had this problem, nor would i care, well to be honest i really still don’t care, but i do see why now it is important to study how society functions.
Secondly, the prologue, A Tale of Two Farms, taught me because of our economy, and global warming everyone is suffering. People are losing jobs, farmers are losing harvest because of the weather, and when our suppliers (ie Chinese for there technology) crashes our economy crashes even more. So we should learn to make our own supplies/ resources.
By comparing both of these information’s I came to the conclusion that we should study how society works because history really repeats its self and will continue to repeat its self unless we make a change in the way we live.
